6 Miles from Slickrock

Trail

Not for the beach cruiser, the famous Slickrock Trail is where to test your mountain bike mettle. People on shod horses gave it its slippery name; modern mountain bike tires actually find better-than-average purchase on the sandpaper texture. (So will your skin, though, so try to stay upright.) The trail is a challenging 13-mile loop over prehistoric terrain. You’ll absolutely need your own tools, tubes and H20.

9 Minutes from Arches National Park

Bordered by the Colorado River in the southeast, it’s known as the site of more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, such as the massive, red-hued Delicate Arch in the east. Long, thin Landscape Arch stands in Devils Garden to the north. Other geological formations include Balanced Rock, towering over the desert landscape in the middle of the park.

18 Miles from Corona & Bowtie Arches

This is a great hike to a giant arch- and the best part is, it’s outside of Arches National Park! So if you do not want to buy a pass into the park, this is the hike for you. It’s free! Two arches for one hike. It’s kid friendly too!
